Each year, the National Federation of the Blind of Colorado gives away over $10,000.00 in scholarships to students who are blind and are residents of the state of Colorado. American Council of the Blind (ACB)
The American Council of the Blind (ACB) annually awards approximately twenty
scholarships ranging in amounts from $1,000 to $2,500 to vocational, entering
freshmen, undergraduate and graduate college students who are legally blind,
maintain a 3.3 GPA and are involved in their school/local community.

The Chicago Lighthouse for People Who Are

Council of
Citizens with Low Vision International (CCLVI)
The
Council of Citizens with Low Vision International offers two scholarship
programs.
The Fred Scheigert Scholarship Program:
This
competitive scholarship awards three (3) students an individual prize of $3000
annually. Applicants must be full-time college students with low vision, chosen
from among those who meet the visual acuity and academic guidelines.
Guidelines, Application and Certification of Low Vision forms and the on-line

The application must be completed online. The required CCLVI Certification of
Low Vision form may be downloaded and completed between June and February.

The Carl Foley Graduate Scholarship
Program:
This
program is for graduate students attending one of several colleges and
universities which offer a degree in the field of low vision. Applicants need

currently recognized, contact CCLVI so that a questionnaire can be sent to the
school to determine if the program qualifies for the provisions of the Carl Foley

The Foundation for Exceptional Children offers scholarships to incoming college

The Kayte M. Fearn Council for Exceptional
Children Ethnic Diversity Scholarship is awarded annually. It is a cash

Parents with Disabilities and their Families are pleased to announce new
scholarships specifically for high school seniors and college students who have
parents with disabilities. A total of ten $1,000 scholarships will be
given out Fall
2011. Please note that the 2011 awards have different application
procedures than previous years. There are separate scholarship awards for
high school seniors and for college students, and each has separate eligibility
requirements:
1. High School Seniors. To be eligible, a student must be a high school
graduate (or graduating senior) by Summer 2011, planning to attend a two-year
or four-year college in Fall 2011 in pursuit of an AA, BA or BS degree, and
have at least one parent with a disability
2. College Students. To be eligible, a student must be currently enrolled in a
two-year or four-year college in Fall 2011 in pursuit of an AA, BA or BS
degree, be 21 years of age or younger as of March 1, 2011, and have at least
one parent with a disability.
